Top Notch Tree was founded by Jeff Van Meter and Mike Reddish in May 1999 when a micro burst affected several south shore towns. Jeff and Mike are childhood friends who both share an interest for the outdoors and have worked together on projects since 1988. Jeff and Mike were fascinated by the complexity of arboriculture and searched for training from experience arborists. Among the influential arborists are Jeff's Uncle David Hirsch and family friend George Bent who had careers with both Asplundh Tree and Bartlett Tree Experts in the 1960's and 1970's.
